On the threshold of Understanding, what remains?

It is in our rational nature to seek meaning in our decisions.
And if are we at the limit of our capacity for understanding?

In this situation, reason is useless because it is insufficient and all that is left is that feeling that leads us to a decision, something we call "intuition".

Living parts of life where our sense of reason gives way to intuition builds the predicate necessary for the growth of the soul in the face of its limits of understanding, where little by little we develop our interaction with something greater that seems to exist beyond what we know, but that does not materialize, yet is present.
Some call this God, and others call it science that is yet to be revealed.
Regardless of each person's personal belief, the fact is that something greater governs life.

Believing in intuition can build humility when we cannot walk independently when we need external support far beyond our capacity.

Intuition is also a kind of reminder of our natural arrogance, remembering that our limits require us to build some humility when we cannot do it by ourselves.

Unfortunately, intuition can be confused with self-mystification or influence.

In the case of self-mystification, personal desire is so intense that it is confused with intuition.
In fact, we are just listening to ourselves.

Intuition is something difficult to describe.
It seems more like a feeling of certainty associated with an action.
And if we desire too much, we have excess certainty in the face of insufficient perception of reality.

Intuition is also confused with influence.

This establishes itself as a kind of thought that takes over your reason in such a disguised way that it does not seem like an externally constructed thought but has the gift of determining actions, just like intuition.

And what is influence?

In search of a definition that is as neutral as possible, one could say that it is the alteration of "thinking" through an external source, whatever it may be, material or immaterial.

In short...
The fact is that on the threshold of understanding, all that remains is intuition, self-mystification, and influence.

The challenge is to filter what is really from intuition.

No limiar da Compreensão, o que resta?

É da nossa natureza racional, buscar sentido em nossas decisões.

E quando estamos no limiar da nossa capacidade de entendimento?

Nessa situação a razão é inútil porque é insuficiente e sobra apenas aquele sentimento que nos induz a uma decisão, algo que chamamos de "intuição".

Viver parcelas da vida onde o próprio senso de razão cede à intuição vai construindo o predicado necessário ao crescimento da alma diante de seus limites de entendimento, onde aos poucos vai construindo a sua interação com algo maior que parece existir além do que conhecemos, mas que não se materializa, porém, se faz presente.
Alguns chaman isso de Deus, e outros chamam de ciência que ainda está por se desvendar.
Indiferente à crença pessoal de cada um, o fato é que algo maior rege a vida.

Acreditar na intuição pode construir a humildade quando não podemos caminhar por nós mesmos, quando necessitamos de um apoio externo muito além da nossa capacidade.

A intuição é também uma espécie de lembrança à nossa prepotência natural, fazendo-nos lembrar que os nossos limites exigem a construção de alguma humildade onde não podemos trilhar por nós mesmos.

Infelizmente, a intuição pode ser confundida com automistificação ou influenciação. 

No caso da automistificação, o desejo pessoal é tão grande que se confunde com a intuição.
Na verdade, estamos apenas escutando a nós mesmos.

Intuição é algo difícil de descrever.
Parece mais um sentimento de certeza associado a uma ação.
E se desejamos demais, temos  excesso de certeza diante da insuficiência de percepção da realidade.

A intuição também se confunde com a influenciação.
Esta se estabelece como uma espécie de pensamento que toma conta da sua razão de forma tão disfarçada que não parece como um pensamento construído externamente, mas tem o dom de determinar ações, assim como a intuição.

E o que é a influenciação?
Buscando uma definição, a mais neutra possível, poderia se dizer que é a alteração do "pensar" mediante uma fonte externa, seja ela qual for, material ou imaterial.

Resumindo...
O fato é que no limiar da compreensão, resta apenas a intuição, a automistificação e a influenciação.

O desafio é filtrar o que realmente é intuição.

Chain of Command - About The caine mutiny court-martial

 The film "The caine mutiny court-martial" is about a justified reason for a wrong decision because a captain that puts the ship at risk during a storm.

In other words, the approach of respect for the hierarchical chain (or chain of command) necessary to maintain the organization and its purpose.

The film presents an excellent proposal and develops well, but the ending is very mediocre.

The question arises when the person most responsible for this compliance is failing.

Should we get involved in challenging the chain of command in such cases?

This question clashes with the meaning of democracy and dictatorship.

In a democracy, leaders are judged by the people, an example of politics through voting.

In a dictatorship, there is total submission according to the level of authority in the chain of command (top-down approach).

The army and police organizations are autocratic by nature, and thus we find ourselves in an ironic situation where democracy seeks refuge and protection in autocracy to maintain order.

Is there any plausible solution to this irony?
Or will autocratic regimes be justified?

A solution to this counterproductive dichotomy arises when we take into account another principle, where authority must emanate from competence, which, once compromised, is revoked.

Nature evolves by replacing those who fail to adapt in order to preserve the species.

It is necessary to bring to a sense of respect for the hierarchy also a sense of respect for criticism that is supported by reason, regardless of its level.

We also need to consider that there is no assisted evaluation of command without multiple feedback from lower to higher positions, throughout the entire chain of command.

It is precisely this multiplicity of feedback that authenticates and qualifies the perception of the organization's performance.

Without "democratic feedback" the short-sighted perception is supported by those responsible who only see those to whom they delegate, that is, they only see through the eyes of their immediate subordinate and through their filter according to their interests.

In a top-down control system, the truth only emerges when an event shakes the structure of the organization, which is precisely the theme of the film.

This doesn't work!

It's not proactive!

Once the milk is spilled, it's gone.

After the house is robbed, is it time to put a lock on it???

The end of the film becomes mediocre from the point where the defense attorney says he is ashamed of what he did.
So, why did he do it?!!

If the justification was lack of choice, then he should be mixed with the weak who always claims contingent situations to avoid responsibility for his choices because he doesn't want to pay the price for what he knows he should have done, but did not.

The figure of the defense attorney grows throughout the film and incongruously plummets at the end.
It would be more plausible if instead of feeling embarrassed, he had said he was extremely uncomfortable and dissatisfied, as this would be consistent with his final words and the justification for the outcome when he then throws the contents of his glass in the face of the person he says should have been judged instead.

After all, what would the defense attorney prefer?

To preserve his comfort in the face of the past values ​​of a good officer or to endure the eventual deaths of a ship that sinks?

The treatment given to the subject is hypocritical and even inhumane because it places lesser values ​​above greater ones with its "almost brilliant" ending, maybe not so brilliant at all, only contributing to strengthening the incompetence that is preserved by authoritarianism through the unquestionability of the command chain.

The film follows a great plot, but just like the marathon runner who maintains the first position throughout the marathon, he stumbles and falls two meters from the finish line.

Total surprise and disappointment!

The film is worth watching for its purpose, but it ends very badly, leaving a very negative and deconstructive message like we should accept incompetence in managing life, penalizing it for the sake of something that has lost its purpose!

The entire social chain, productive or not, cannot give in to the privilege of error and incompetence when it does want to build a fair and harmonious society.

The incompetents see the reply as a threat.

The competents seize the reply as an opportunity.

Cadeia de comando - Do Filme A Corte Marcial do Motim do Caine

 

 

O filme "The caine mutiny court-martial" (A Corte Marcial do Motim do Caine) trata sobre um motim justificado por uma decisão errada do comandante que coloca em risco o navio durante uma tempestade.

Ou seja, aborda o respeito à cadeia hierárquica (ou cadeia de comando) necessário para manter a organização e o seu propósito. 

O filme traz uma excelente proposta e desenvolve-se bem, mas o final é medíocre.

A questão surge quando o responsável maior por esse cumprimento está falhando.

Devemos nos envergonhar de contestá-la?

Esta questão esbarra com o sentido ético, bem como de democracia e de ditadura.

Na democracia os líderes são julgados pelo povo, a exemplo da política através do voto.
Na ditadura é a submissão total conforme o nível de autoridade na cadeia de comando, de cima para baixo (top-down approach).

O exército e as organizações de policiamento são autocratas por natureza e dessa forma caímos em uma situação irônica onde a democracia busca refúgio e proteção na autocracia para manter a ordem.

Haveria alguma solução plausível para essa ironia?
Ou será que os regimes autocratas se justificam?

Uma solução para essa dicotomia contraproducente nasce quando levamos em conta outro princípio, onde a autoridade deve emanar pela competência, que uma vez comprometida deve ser demovida.

A natureza evolui substituindo aqueles que falham pela competência em se adaptarem às mudanças de modo a preservar a espécie.

É preciso levar para o senso de respeito à hierarquia também o sentido de respeito à crítica que encontra subsídio na razão, independente de seu nível.

Ainda precisamos considerar que não existe avaliação ajuizada de comando sem retroalimentação múltipla dos postos inferiores aos superiores, ao longo de toda a cadeia de comando.

É justamente esta multiplicidade de feedbacks que autentica e qualifica a percepção do desempenho de qualquer organização.
Sem "feedbacks democráticos" subsidia-se a percepção míope cujo responsável que só enxerga aquele a quem delega falha, porque apenas vê pelos olhos do subalterno imediato e pelo seu filtro conforme os seus interesses.

Em um sistema estritamente top-down (de cima para baixo) a verdade só aparece diante de um evento que estremece a estrutura da organização, justamente o tema do filme.

Isso não funciona!
Não é pro-ativo!
Depois que o leite está derramado, está perdido.

Depois que a casa é roubada é que se põe tranca!!??

O final do filme torna-se medíocre a partir do ponto onde  o advogado de defesa diz estar envergonhado do que fez.
Então por que fez?!!

Se a justificativa foi falta de opção, então confunde-se com os fracos que sempre alegam situações contingenciais para esquivar-se da responsabilidade de suas opções por não desejarem pagar o preço pelo que sabem que deveriam ter feito.

A figura do advogado de defesa cresce durante todo filme e despenca incongruentemente no seu desfecho.
Seria mais plausível que ao invés de sentir-se envergonhado, tivesse dito extremamente desconfortável e insatisfeito, pois ficaria compatível com as suas palavras finais e a justificativa do desfecho quando então ele atira o conteúdo de seu copo na face daquele a quem diz que deveria ter sido de fato julgado.

Afinal, o que o advogado de defesa preferia?
Preservar o seu conforto diante dos valores passados de um bom oficial ou suportar os eventuais óbitos de uma embarcação que naufraga?

O tratamento final dado ao tema é hipócrita e chega mesmo a ser desumano, porque coloca valores menores acima de maiores com o seu "quase brilhante" final, apenas contribuindo para fortalecer a incompetência que se preserva pelo autoritarismo através da inquestionabilidade da cadeia de comando.

O filme segue um ótimo enredo, mas tal como o maratonista que mantém a primeira posição durante toda a maratona, tropeça e cai faltando dois metros da linha de chegada.

Surpresa e decepção total!

O filme vale a pena pela proposta, mas finaliza muito mal, deixando um recado muito negativo e desconstrutivo:
"Devemos aceitar que a incompetência dirija a vida penalizando-a pelo amor a algo que perdeu o sentido de autenticidade?".

Toda a cadeia social, produtiva ou não, não pode ceder ao privilégio do erro e da incompetência quando no afã de se construir uma sociedade justa e harmônica.

O incompetente vê a réplica como ameaça.

O competente vê a réplica como oportunidade.
