Adapting and Competing: Harnessing AI Capabilities Without AI Taking Over You

AI is a major IT achievement.

LLM (Large Language Models) has been in development for decades and was worth all the effort of its engineers. It represented a major step forward in human-machine interaction in the 21st century, where humans now have the ability to communicate with machines, overcoming the previous century, when machines dictated how to communicate with them.

So, what is LLM?

When I asked ChatGPT this question, it came back:

"Large Language Models (LLMs) are a type of artificial intelligence (AI) model designed to understand, generate, and interact with human language on a large scale."

Well, if it wasn't clear to you, we can say that LLM is the "programming" that allows us to understand human language. If the "purists" turn their noses up at this assertion, we can still add in its defense that everything in IT is a line of code, that is, programming, no matter how clever it is!

Of course, all professions love to invent jargon to "spice up the chicken", making it seem more than it is, something more complicated than it really is.

Anyway!!!...

It's the damned human habit of "valuing" the fish to improve the sale price.

The thing is that the sale price always returns to the reality of the offer, and AI, like a fish in the market, will soon have its place precisely defined without the extremes that the impact of novelty brings.

The fantastic thing about the LLM is the programming model that was able to deal with various nuances of human communication. All of this is supported by the processing power of current machines, since before we didn't have such fast and capable CPUs and memories.

AI is old, but it's new to the general public.

I graduated with an individual thesis in 2004 in the area of AI, which dealt with replacing statistical Kalman filters. This was my bachelor's thesis, and although I was offered a doctorate, the scholarship amount was so insignificant that it made surviving the 4 years of this process impossible.

All these details were provided so that you can build some confidence in the author's opinion.

OK! Has AI reached the beginning of maturity, its "18 years"?

And how do we deal with this teenager?

I'll summarize it to make the solution something direct and simple, but no less powerful.

If everyone can have access to AI resources, through its numerous services such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Alphabet, etc., what will make a difference is precisely the difference that you can add in addition to this, or even what you can envision as an action that transcends the information received, since AI will level everyone through its basic information.

It's no longer about discovering the solution contained in databases, something that AI provides, but the solutions that you add from the most powerful inference engine that exists: the human brain. In other words, you!

Remember that a response from any intelligent service puts you at the same starting point as your competitors, since everyone will have access to the same database.

What makes a difference is what you can add on top of that!

The challenge has become fairer since it levels the playing field, but on the other hand, it is more challenging since it requires truly new information.

Conclusion:

New information will be the difference between the machine and Man.

What will count is how much you actually "make a difference"!

So... work on your creativity.
